Struggling to Enable Location Services in iOS 8? Here’s The Fix

Last updated: February 22, 2015 at 23:25 pm

Location Services in iPhone and iPad allows you to use location-based apps, games, websites, and maps for your convenience. Prior to iOS 8, it was easy to change your location details.

With iOS 8, however, users have reported that turning ON the Location Services feature is impossible. If you have recently upgraded to iOS 8 firmware, and if you cannot toggle the location switch, we have a solution that might just do the trick.

Before we dig into the fix, we always recommend iOS users to restart their devices.

So restart your iPhone and iPad, then go to Settings -> Privacy and try to turn ON Location Services. If it works, great. If not, follow the next solution.

Enable Location-Based alerts (or everything from the list). Go back and you will be able to switch ON or OFF the Location Services.

Another solution is to go to Settings > General > Restrictions > Location Services. Here, make sure “Allow Changes” is checked.
