There’s More To This iOS 8 Love
Here’s a quote from Craig Federighi (Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering) on iOS 8 firmware:
“We’re excited for hundreds of millions of users to begin experiencing iOS 8, with incredible features that offer new ways to use your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.”
Like Apple, we too are pretty damn excited for iOS 8, right? Here are a few reasons to go with iOS 8, apart from the usual ones (see the complete list of iOS 8 features):
- iOS 8 brings new APIs (over 4,000 APIs) for developers
- iOS 8 is deeply integrated with Mac Yosemite operating system
- iOS 8 offers iCloud Drive for syncing and backing up data
iOS 8 Announcement At The Apple Event
Few iOS users have been waiting with their hands folded, wondering why hasn’t Apple released iOS 8 on September 9th event? The answer is simple. The quick summary of Apple event held in Cupertino, California will answer your question:
- Two new Apple iPhones were released — Apple iPhone 6 and Apple iPhone 6 Plus.
- New Apple Watch and its availability (from early 2015).
- Apple Pay service.
Note that iOS 8 was first announced in the month of June at WWDC. Since then, Apple has released 6 betas of iOS firmware and one Gold Master version. Any iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch user can download these firmwares, as long as they have access to the Apple developer program.
On September 9th, Apple “announced” that iOS 8 will be available on September 17th, 2014.
The betas and GM version of iOS 8 are still available.
But you know what?
Apple iOS betas have the power to replace the old battery-draining old-looking iOS 7 you have right now, but remember using these betas can be absolute nightmare. You have to deal with bugs, instability and freezing and crashing of apps. That’s just part of the beta world.
Of all the betas we tested, iOS 8 beta 5 worked well on our iPhone.
Now, you have to ask yourself this simple question: Should I wait for iOS 8 stable or go with the beta version… just to get a “feeling” of this gorgeous OS?
If you are one of those “let-me-play-safe” souls, you might want to wait till September 17th. And if you don’t have too much of time to play around, going with the stable version will be a wise choice.
Just note down the date or bookmark our website. We will repeatedly tell you that iOS 8 is releasing on September 17th, and we will show you how to download those IPSW (or DMG) files on your computer on that exact date.
